Clay mortar Argilla Materica

Argilla Materica is a lime-based, clay-rich interior wall coating that creates a natural, soft and completely matte texture on the wall surface. Clay minerals improve the plasticity and workability of the mass, making it easy to create different structures, layers and sculptural forms in warm, earthy tones. The coating is highly breathable (V1) and its alkaline nature makes it naturally resistant to mold and bacteria, making it an excellent solution for spaces where healthy indoor air is desired.

Features

• Natural, ecological composition: lime screed + clay; very low VOC (<1 g/l, class A/a).<
• Very breathable structure: water vapour permeability class V1, Sd ≈ 0.0185 m.
• Pleasant to work with: clay increases plasticity and enables both subtle and strong textures.
• Fully matte and warm feel: pleasant to look at and touch.
• For indoor use, healthy indoor air: alkaline nature protects against microbial growth.

Applications

Interior walls in homes, hotels, restaurants, and work and living spaces; also suitable for organic and traditional construction and the restoration of historical sites, when a natural, breathable and timelessly elegant effect is desired.

Surface preparation and priming

• The substrate must be dry, load-bearing and evenly absorbent; remove loose parts and sand shiny paint surfaces.
• If necessary, level the surface (e.g. with lime leveling compound).

Primer:  Il Primer or Blankor 

Post-treatment and protection: Water repellency increases after approximately 7 days: OIKOS Betoncryll Idrorepellente. Note: the product is natural and sensitive to water during application → water may cause discoloration before the final protective treatment.
