Tiepolo Gessato
Tiepolo Gessato OIKOS is a high-quality lime-based surface treatment for interior use that gives wall surfaces a refined, lightly textured marble effect. The product is formulated with slaked lime paste, selected marble powders and natural pigments, making it safe for both people and the environment. Its subtly matte and powdery finish reflects the aesthetics of traditional Italian craftsmanship in a modern way.
Features and benefits
- Natural composition. Does not contain formaldehyde or harmful chemicals.
- Highly breathable. Improves indoor air quality and prevents moisture build-up.
- Inhibits the growth of mold and bacteria. High alkalinity prevents the formation of microorganisms.
- Smooth and easy-to-work surface. Can be finished in many different styles (e.g. Gessato, Affresco, Materico).
- Ready to use. No dilution, easy application with a stainless steel trowel.
- Emission class A+. Certified as a very low-emission product.
Application and instructions
- Primer: Make sure the surface is dry and well cured. Remove any flaking paint and clean off any dust and dirt. If necessary, treat with CONSOLIDANTE PER CALCE or IL PRIMER from Oikosilta.
- Application: Apply two coats of Tiepolo Gessato with a stainless steel trowelapproximately every 7–8 hours. Level the entire wall surface carefully.
- Special effects: Affresco – Creates a raised surface with light scratches and finishes with TIEPOLO OPACO . Materico – Layered effect with brush application and finishing.
- Consumption: TIEPOLO GESSATO: 1–1.5 kg/m² in two layers. For Affresco and Materico effects, consumption can vary from 1.3–1.5 kg/m². TIEPOLO OPACO -finish: 7–10 m²/l depending on the method.
- Drying time: Touch dry approx. 2.5 h (+20 °C / 75 % RH)
- Fully dry in about 24 hours
